According to the eligibility criteria for Team India selector's job, a candidate should have played seven Tests or 30 first-class matches, or 10 ODIs and 20 first-class matches. He should have retired at least five years previously. No person who has been a member of any cricket committee for a total of five years shall be eligible, the BCCI stated.
