The Jagannath Temple in Mahesh, West Bengal, was founded by Bengali sage Dhrubananda Brahmachari in the 14th century. He established the temple after receiving divine instructions from Lord Jagannath in a dream. Lord Jagannath has been worshipped in Mahesh for more than six centuries. The 629-year-old temple is also known as the second oldest Jagannath temple in India after Puri.
