Conservative Karol Nawrocki, a 42-year-old historian and amateur boxer, won Poland's Presidential election on Monday. The Gdańsk-born government activist has served as President of the Institute of National Remembrance since July 2021 and was previously Director of the Museum of the Second World War (2017–2021). Nawrocki earned his doctorate in humanities from the University of Gdańsk in 2013.
