Sanae Takaichi is a 64-year-old elected leader of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party, who is set to become Japan's first female PM. Known for her traditional views opposing gender reforms and same-sex marriage, she supports stronger military and tough immigration policies. Takaichi was first elected to parliament in 1993 and has held posts including minister of economic security, internal affairs.
