Tarvinder Singh Marwah, who defeated former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia from Jangpura, switched from Congress to BJP in July 2022. Marwah represented the Jangpura seat three times—winning in 1998, 2003, and 2008—as a Congress candidate. He had criticised Congress and the Gandhi family for sidelining veteran leaders. Marwah is also a member of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.
