Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin appointed a commission headed by retired Justice Aruna Jagadeesan to probe the stampede at actor-politician Vijay's rally. Jagadeesan retired as a puisne judge of Madras High Court in 2015. She has led many high-profile commissions for the state government, including the one that probed police firing against people protesting Sterlite Copper smelting plant in 2018.
