Pakistan's reported airstrikes in Kabul allegedly targeted TTP chief Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud. Mehsud, a religious scholar from South Waziristan, leads the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and is known for his 2017 book justifying jihad against the state. Reports claimed that he was the main target of Thursday night's strikes. An audio message attributed to Mehsud later claimed that he is alive.
