A five-member Norwegian committee selects laureates based on long-term peace, diplomacy, and humanitarian impact. The committee creates a shortlist, conducts deep evaluations with external experts, and then votes. A majority is required. If no candidate meets the standard, no prize is awarded. Winners are revealed in early October in Oslo, Norway.
