The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that it will reduce its workforce by nearly 25%, or 2,371 employees, by June 2026. This comes after the United States, which contributes around 18% of the health agency's overall funding, withdrew from the body. The reduction in staff will result from job cuts, as well as retirements and departures.
