Alexandra Kollontai was a Russian revolutionary and a radical feminist who became the world's first woman to hold the position of a cabinet minister. She was known for challenging the ways the family system and law placed women in dependence, as argued in her 1909 pamphlet, 'The Social Basis of the Woman Question'.
