Commander Nishant Singh was a trained fighter pilot with the Indian Navy. With over 12 years of service, he saved a young trainee pilot's life during a MiG-29K routine training session. However, he laid down his life while doing so. He was posthumously awarded the Nao Sena Medal for his courage.
