Maoist leader Chalapathi, who was among 14 Maoists shot dead by security forces in Chhattisgarh, masterminded killings of TDP MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao and ex-MLA Siveri Soma in 2018. He was an alleged member of the top decision making body of Maoists. Chalapathi carried a ₹1-crore bounty as he was privy to Maoists' sensitive operations, making him an important target.
