San Rechal, a 26-year-old model and social media influencer from Puducherry, died by suicide. Rechal won the Miss Puducherry crown in 2022 and gained national recognition by representing India in the Miss Africa Golden pageant in 2023. She was also crowned 'Miss Dark Queen Tamil Nadu' in 2019. Rechal openly raised her voice against colourism in fashion and film industry.
