Ashutosh Mukherjee, also known as 'Tantric Ashutosh Tarkaratna' was a resident of Chorbagan, Kolkata. He used to travel to various pilgrimage sites across country. The Tantric devoted himself to worship, meditation, and 'sadhana'. Once, Ashutosh saw the thousand-handed form of Goddess Kali in his dream and established the "Hajar Haat Kali temple" in Shibpur, Howrah, West Bengal in 1870.
