Though allegations of sexual misconduct against its young MLA, Rahul Mamkootathil, have forced the Congress on the back foot, the party is unlikely to seek his resignation from the Assembly. The party has reasons: One, no complaint has been made so far against Mamkootathil, two, MLAs who were arrested on sexual charges earlier, still continue in the Assembly.
