King Indradyumna asked Vishwakarma to carve Lord Jagannath’s idol, agreeing not to interrupt. But growing impatient, the king opened the door before the work was done. Vishwakarma vanished, leaving the idol incomplete. A divine voice declared it perfect-symbolising that God’s love transcends form, needing no limbs to love and bless, and representing imperfection, and spiritual completeness.
