Many countries turn their clocks back by an hour in late October or early November to end Daylight Saving Time (DST), which usually begins in March. DST is used to help maximise daylight during summer evenings. India doesn't follow DST because its entire territory lies in one time zone and near the equator, where daylight duration barely changes year-round.
