World Zoonoses Day is celebrated every year on July 6th to mark successful administration of the first rabies vaccine by Louis Pasteur in 1885. More than 75% of emerging infectious diseases are zoonotic in nature. These diseases can be spread through various means, including direct contact with animals, indirect contact with contaminated environments, or through vectors like mosquitoes and ticks.
