Perplexity AI has offered $34.5 billion (approximately ₹3.02 lakh crore) to acquire Google Chrome. Chrome's reach would give Perplexity unmatched access to users and search traffic and it'd gain direct foothold in the browser market. Google spends heavily to be the default in other people's browsers and devices. If Perplexity owns Chrome, it replaces paid defaults with owned distribution.
