Falling fertility rates worldwide, driven by better education, contraception, urbanisation, and changing social norms, are causing populations in many countries to shrink. Ageing populations and fewer young workers threaten economic growth, social programs, and labour markets. Without reforms supporting families and immigration, countries risk depopulation and economic challenges by 2100.
