UAE's Emirates has banned passengers from using power banks onboard flights from October 1. Citing a safety review, the airline noted that there has been an "increasing number of lithium battery-related incidents onboard flights across the wider aviation industry." It stated that power banks usually have lithium-ion batteries, which may cause fire, explosions and the release of toxic gases.
