Sensex saw a dip in early trade on Tuesday as investor sentiment weakened after US issued a draft notice to implement an additional 25% tariff on Indian imports, effective August 27. Sensex fell 624.03 points to 81,981.86, while Nifty lost 191.85 points to hit 24,775.90. The rupee dropped 22 paise to 87.78 against US dollar during early trade.
