Over 200 paying guest (PG) spaces in Karnataka's Bengaluru have closed after city's municipal corporation enacted strict operations rules, PG owners association's secretary told Hindustan Times. Apart from this, reduced demand from laid-off tech workers is compelling many PGs to run on 20-30% losses. CCTV camera installation, food safety licences and additional water charges are driving up costs.
