Cardiologist Dr Dmitry Yaranov explained that calf muscles act as body's "second heart" as they maintain circulation and pump blood back to the heart. He stressed regular physical activity like walking or heel raises, as strong calf muscles prevent clotting and protect circulation. Weak muscles force the heart to overwork, raising BP and increasing chances of heart failure, he added.
