Nitish Kumar's first stint as Bihar CM in 2000 lasted a week. Lacking clear majority, he was still invited by then Governor to form government. Nitish was sworn in on March 3 with support from NDA and allied MLAs. But RJD, also short of majority but numerically ahead, protested. With neither side securing numbers, Nitish's government collapsed on March 11.
