The Supreme Court issued a notice to RBI questioning why AI and machine learning tools were not being deployed to detect and freeze bank accounts of cyber criminals. This came after the court was hearing a case on a digital arrest scam. The apex court also directed CBI to carry out a unified pan-India probe into digital arrest scam cases.
