Why should people not replace iodised salt with pink or rock salt?

People who have replaced white iodised salt with alternatives like pink or rock salt, which don't have enough iodine, for up to two years may experience fluctuating thyroid levels, said general physician Dr Akshat Chadha. Advising people to return to iodised salt, he suggested that people should, instead, reduce the amount of salt consumed. Dr Manjusha Agarwal backed Chadha's suggestion.
