On-field umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge had to be replaced by the fourth umpire during the second innings of the Pakistan-UAE clash in the 2025 Asia Cup. Palliyaguruge was hit on the back of his neck by a throw from a Pakistan fielder and was attended by the Pakistan physio before walking off the field. He was replaced by Bangladesh's Gazi Sohel.
