Calcutta High Court granted a man divorce, stating that a sufficiently "strong case" of mental cruelty was made "Imposition of friend and family of [wife] on the husband at his quarter against his will...can definitely be constituted as cruelty, since it might...have made life impossible," it observed. It also noted that the wife had filed a case of matrimonial cruelty.
