Union Cabinet approved the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) scheme on 'Capacity Building and Human Resource Development' with a ₹2277-crore outlay. PM Narendra Modi said it will "add vigour to India's R&D ecosystem, with a focus on a culture of innovation as well as excellence." The scheme will play important role in achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
