The Delhi and Haryana governments have urged the Supreme Court to allow green firecrackers between 8 pm and 10 pm during Diwali. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing NCR states, proposed limited use during major festivals like Diwali, Gurpurab, and Christmas .Following this, the bench, led by Chief Justice BR Gavai, reserved its decision saying it'd permit firecrackers on trial basis.
