Supreme Court, while hearing the petitions challenging Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar, warned the Election Commission (ECI) that it would scrap the entire SIR if any illegality is found in the methodology adopted. The court added that it presumes the ECI, as a constitutional authority, is following the law and mandatory rules in carrying out the SIR process.
