While hearing pleas against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, the Supreme Court questioned the provision to include non-Muslims on the Central Waqf Council. "Are you saying that from now on, you will allow Muslims to be part of the Hindu endowment boards? Say it openly," Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who's representing the central government.
