A woman named Basamma lost her forearms after a hair dryer exploded in her hands in Bagalkot district of Karnataka. Basamma is the wife of an ex-army personnel, who died in 2017 due to an electrical accident in J&K. The device had been couriered to her neighbour, Shashikala. As Shashikala was out of town, she requested Basamma to collect it.
