A Chennai consumer court ordered a beauty parlour to pay ₹5 lakh to a woman who lost both her earlobes after "herbal treatment". The woman visited the parlour seeking to reduce the size of her enlarged ear piercings. Soon after applying ‘herbal mix’, she felt burning sensation. The parlour staff later applied more chemicals. Days later, her earlobes were torn.
