P Bindu from Tamil Nadu's Theni mortgaged her jewellery after suffering losses in sugarcane farming. Determined to turn things around, she started growing brinjal and corn for better income. She joined self-help groups, attended agriculture department programmes, and learnt organic farming. Today, she sells idli podis, employs 12 women, and has won awards for her innovative techniques.
