Kanchan Gupta, an Information and Broadcasting Ministry official, criticised social media platform X for opposing the Karnataka High Court's ruling on centre's Sahyog portal. "X must operate in India under India's sovereign laws and rules, and not laws and rules framed by X," Kanchan stated. Sahyog portal is used to issue notices to social media companies for removal of content.
