NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar), world's most expensive Earth navigation satellite jointly built by India and US at ₹13,000 crore, lifted-off on Wednesday. It was launched onboard GSLV-F16 launch vehicle from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota. The spacecraft will circle Earth 14 times a day, scanning nearly all the planet’s land and ice surfaces twice every 12 days.
