Ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Bangladesh's interim leader Muhammad Yunus' decision to hold elections in April 2026 is a "ploy to crack an April Fool’s joke" on Bangladeshis. Hasina accused Yunus of threatening the sovereignty of Bangladesh, adding, "Rohingya corridor is a ploy to sell St Martin’s Island and undermine our access to the seas."
