Amid growing public and political pressure, Muhammad Yunus, chief advisor of the country's interim government, announced that the next national elections could be held anytime between December 2025 and June 2026. Explaining the timeline, Yunus said government needs time for electoral and governance reforms. "The politicians are very impatient, to get to their seats of power," he added.
