Zee Entertainment said that the recent layoffs, which targeted around 200 employees, are part of its remodelling and integration of its business division as part of its omni-channel strategy. This restructuring follows the collapse of its merger with Sony Pictures Networks India. In 2024, the company shared its plan to cut down its workforce by 15% to about 700 employees.
