From September 22, 2025, over 50 essential goods will attract zero GST, easing household budgets and reducing costs on food, medicines, and stationery. Approved by the GST Council earlier this month, the move is expected to inject ₹2 lakh crore into the economy. Major brands like Amul and Mother Dairy have already announced price cuts.
