State-run Bharat Electronics and France's Safran Electronics and Defence signed a joint venture cooperation agreement for production of air-to-ground weapons in India. The firms will build "Highly Agile Modular Munition Extended Range (HAMMER)" weapon. The agreement will be formed as a private limited firm with 50:50 shareholding. It aims to meet operational needs of Indian Air Force and Navy.
