Bombay High Court has reaffirmed Muslim men's right to multiple marriages while hearing the case of a Muslim man whose certificate for his third marriage to an Algerian woman was rejected by the Thane civic body. "Under the personal laws for Muslims, they are entitled to have four wives at a time," it said. It called the authority's refusal "misconceived".
