Chhattisgarh reported the first case of human metapneumovirus (HMPV) after a three-year-old boy tested positive for the infection, health officials said on Friday. The boy, who hails from Korba district, was admitted to a hospital in Bilaspur for cold and cough but was shifted to ICU after tests confirmed HMPV infection. An alert has been issued for the Bilaspur district.
