Brian Thompson, the 50-year-old CEO of one of the biggest health insurers in the US named UnitedHealthcare, was shot dead on Wednesday. He had worked at UnitedHealth Group for 20 years and run the insurance arm since 2021 after running its Medicare and retirement business. A University of Iowa graduate, he began his career as a public accountant at PwC.
