The Kerala High Court ruled that an unmarried Christian daughter cannot claim maintenance from her father, as Christian personal laws lack such a provision, unlike Hindu and Muslim laws. The court partially allowed a man’s plea, quashing the order to pay ₹10,000 to his 27-year-old daughter but upheld maintenance of ₹20,000 for his estranged wife.
