The Bell 212 helicopter that crashed killing Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was configured to carry government passengers. Bell Helicopter had developed the aircraft for the Canadian military in the late 1960s and it was quickly adopted by both US and Canada. Non-military organisations that fly Bell 212 include law enforcement agencies and fire departments in the US and Thailand's police.
