As many as six people died and others were injured following a stampede at the Mansa Devi temple in Uttarakhand's Haridwar on Sunday. An eyewitness said, "People ran...and...jumped over each other. They ran over my head and our children. There were bodies scattered." Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the stampede.
