Actress Nayanthara revealed that she was born a Christian but converted to Hinduism in 2011. She added that her mother wanted to see her in a Christian attire at her wedding, however, she opted for a Hindu wedding "with an English touch". Born as Diana Mariam Kurian, the actress changed her name to Nayanthara after entering the film industry.
